Happy New Year and Happy New Earth!
January has been a fast-paced month especially here in California where we’ve been having an unusually warm winter. Some of the trees are still holding onto their brown leaves, and yet, spring flowers are already greening up, and on the verge of blossoming. It’s like the old is leaving at the same time as the new is arriving.
That’s how this New Year of 2014 feels like. As we crossed over into the New Year, there was a big shift in letting go of the old, and really emptying out everything. Over the holidays, I literally and symbolically went through that process in clearing out two family homes back in Massachusetts. As I filled up dumpsters, and donated boxes of items, I felt like I was releasing years of energy, and clearing the slate for a whole new beginning. The clearing still continues, and also includes the letting go of relationships.
Many of us are feeling these endings in relationships. We can find ourselves drifting away from some of our family, friends and acquaintances, and moving closer to others. For some relationships, we are finally complete with our karmic contracts with each other. We are done with those relationships, and are now free to move on. For some of us, we have already begun to foster new relationships that are more in alignment with who we are, and where we are headed. There is no judgment. It’s just time for some relationships to end to make way for the new people that are coming into our lives.
As we prepare for the next step, we can feel like we are in a holding pattern. Our new spaces are being prepared for us, and yet they are not quite ready. In the meantime, we are bringing back parts of our Self that we may have abandoned or lost along the way. It’s now time to retrieve them in order to feel more of a sense of wholeness within. Some of us may also be drawn to creativity involving the arts – following our desires to paint, draw, play music, write, decorate, anything that helps to let go of controlling thoughts, and to step into a place of being and acceptance. We are exactly where we need to be right now.
After so much emptying and letting go, we are really to be filled with love and gratitude. Those will be the highest energies of the New Earth, and in time, the status quo for many of us who are ready to take that leap of faith, and leave the old behind for good.
Personally, I am feeling very ready for a new path in my life. I know that I still have more to let go of, but I am beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel, and that is keeping me going right now. If there’s anything else that you still need to release and heal, now would be the time to do that.
In the coming months, the Spring is going to bring another huge shift especially in the month of April with two eclipses, and a grand cross in the cardinal signs of Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn, initiating energies that will change the world as we know it. As Gandhi once said, “Be the Change you want to see in the World.”
